Getting started

Log in or sign up at instatext.io.

1. Paste or type your text on the left side of the Editor.
2. Click Improve to generate suggestions.
3. Review the improved version on the right side.
4. Accept or reject changes as you prefer.
5. When finished, copy the improved text, download it as a Word file, or share it via a secure link.

Tip: For better focus, work on one or two paragraphs at a time. In addition to the web-based Editor, InstaText offers a browser extension that allows you to refine your writing without switching apps or copying and pasting.

Working inside the Editor

The InstaText Editor gives you full control over your writing. Its intuitive layout, interactive feedback, and flexible workspace make editing easy, fast, and efficient.

Interactive feedback

The Editor provides a clear, side-by-side view of your original and improved text. You can accept or reject changes individually, within a selected block, or apply all suggestions to the entire text at once.

If you make changes to the original text, clicking Improve again instantly refreshes the suggestions.

You can also re-edit your text at any time to receive a fresh round of suggestions, allowing you to keep improving until your text reads exactly as you want.

This interactive feedback not only improves your text but also keeps you engaged in the writing process, helping you develop stronger writing instincts over time.

Adjusting your workspace

You can resize the editing area by dragging the vertical divider to the left or right, giving you more space where you need it. Switching between the left and right canvases is seamless, allowing you to review both versions efficiently.

If you ever need to modify your original text – perhaps to add some extra details or make a few changes before resubmitting – you can easily switch your focus between the left and right canvases. While you edit the original text on the left, the improved version remains visible on the right, unaffected and ready for reference.

Accept or reject a block of text

Rather than processing suggestions one by one, the “Block Accept/Reject” action allows you to select an entire section of text and either accept or reject all suggestions within that block with a single click.

Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts offer a swift and seamless way to navigate the editor. For quick reference, they are displayed on the right sidebar, ensuring they are always within easy reach.

• Alt + Enter – Accept next suggestion
• Alt + Backspace – Reject next suggestion
• Ctrl + C / Cmd + C – Copy improved text

Editing modes

Two editing modes make the experience flexible:

• Revise mode – View and apply edits interactively.
• Review mode – See a clean version with all improvements applied.

Together, these modes let you choose between focused editing and easy reviewing, depending on where you are in your writing process.

Languages and personalisation

The language dropdown lets you choose both your editing language and dialect. You can switch between American or British English, or edit in other languages including Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

Tone settings allow you to choose between formal, informal, or auto style, depending on the purpose of your writing.

The Personal dictionary gives you full control over your terminology:

• Don’t change – Keeps specific words or phrases exactly as written.
• Stop changing – Blocks unwanted replacements.

You can add individual terms or multi-word expressions such as product names, technical terms, or brand phrases. Once added, they are automatically preserved in all future edits. Your preferences are applied across the Editor, the Word add-in, and the browser extension.

Exporting and sharing

Once you’re satisfied with your writing, InstaText makes it simple to export or share your work:

• Download as Word file (.DOCX) – either a clean version or one with Track Changes.

• Share via secure link – ideal for collaboration, feedback, or mentoring.

Shared links automatically expire after 30 days, and you can delete them at any time. InstaText never stores or permanently saves your text.
